Book Review- Option B by Sheryl Sandberg and Adam Grant

I am a kind of person who needs good books to get motivation and feel happiness. Reading is the best exercise to destress the mind and soul and it brings unknown friends in our life." A book is a gift you can open again and again. The more we read, the more we learn.

So coming on the book. This book is  about finding happiness again after life plans something really miserable and unfortunate for you. It teaches us how to move on and show the world that nothing can stop you by finding your OPTION-B. It gives advice on how to handle grief, how to be with a person who is in deep grief and what role people around can play to bring a person out of the grief. This book is about building "Resilience".

The dictionary meaning of "Resilience" is the ability to be happy and successful again after something bad or difficult has happened. A major focus is also given on how corporates can help employees to restart their life after some unfortunate incident, which is the utmost need in today's time.

Gist of the Book- The book is on the story of Sheryl Sandberg's grief, the heartbreaking grief of suddenly loosing her husband while on a vacation and how she followed Option B to bring her life and her children's life back to normal. She shares on how to build resilience and find joy.

One strong push from the book is as follows:

" Weeks after loosing her husband, Sheryl was preparing for father child activity and she cried I WANT DAVE (Dave, her husband) to which her friend replied OPTION A is not available so lets just kick the shit out of OPTION -B.

Find your OPTION-B, life is never perfect and never stop for anyone. It moves on. Loneliness can be overcome if handled in sensitive way. Few snippets from the book. Excuse me for the art on the cover page, that's the modern art by my daughter :p. Thanks
